Turkey's commercial vehicle brand Anadolu Isuzu has made a commitment to the Science Based Target Initiative (SBTi) in line with its sustainability-oriented actions. By joining to the international Science-Based Goals Initiative in line with the importance it attaches to sustainability and environmental protection, Anadolu Isuzu has taken its place among the leading companies that have committed to reducing the greenhouse gas emission levels arising from its activities.

Being established in 2015 by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the United Nations Global Compact, the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the Science-Based Target Initiative, aims to evaluate and promote the efforts of institutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to combat climate change. The initiative, which strives to prevent global warming in line with the targets set in the Paris Agreement, encourages companies to develop their greenhouse gas reduction targets in line with common standards.

Anadolu Isuzu participated in the 'Drive to Zero' initiative, which was launched with the joint venture of the leading sectoral unions and companies of the global automotive industry at the beginning of 2022. Aiming to reach the 100% zero emission target in the sales of new trucks and buses by 2040 in the production of commercial vehicles, the Drive to Zero initiative admits the leading industrial companies that have declared that they will continue their activities in line with the determined targets.

Anadolu Isuzu General Manager Tuğrul Arıkan stated “As Anadolu Isuzu, we attach great importance to environmental protection and sustainability. We respond to the increasing demand for environmentally friendly vehicles from the world's municipalities and transportation operators with the 100% electric and alternative fuel buses we produce in our country. Having signed the international Science-Based Targets Initiative in line with our goal of minimizing greenhouse gas emissions arising from our production processes and activities is another indicator of our determination regarding the issue. Recently, we have joined the international Drive to Zero initiative. Following the European Green Consensus, we also started the 'Environmental Actions' move to quickly adapt to the low carbon economy strategy system and turn the burden of additional Carbon Tax into an opportunity with a possible Emissions Trading System. In this context, we are accelerating our energy efficiency and renewable energy investments. We improve our environmental performance continuously with our meticulously implemented environmental policies and environmental management system, and share our efforts towards this direction through the 'Sustainability Report'. As Anadolu Isuzu, we will continue working with the goal of a livable world for future generations.”
