Drivers of Kocaeli who did more than 1 million kilometers with their Isuzu Urban public transport vehicles without ever opening the hood were awarded.

The power and durability of the vehicle models bearing the name Anadolu Isuzu, Turkey’s commercial vehicle brand, was confirmed once again. Some member drivers of the S.S.5 Urban Minibus and Bus Operators Cooperative in the province of Kocaeli saw past the 1-million-kilometer figure on the odometer of their Urban model vehicles under the Anadolu Isuzu brand without ever raising the hood despite running constantly in urban traffic. The S.S.5 Urban Minibus and Bus Operators Cooperative awarded its Isuzu owner members Ahmet Bilgin, Nuri Babaoğlu, Hasan Duymuş and Emrah Gökçeciler with a prize and a plaque each for driving more than 1 million kilometers in 16 years.

Speaking at the ceremony in the Kocaeli Minibus and Bus Operators Guild, Anadolu Isuzu Bus Sales Manager Murat Küçük explained that they focused on excellence in after sales service with a customer-centric approach to business. “What’s important for us is not to sell the vehicle but the service we provide after we sell it. We congratulate the distinguished drivers who reached 1 million kilometers with their hood unraised,” he said.

The S.S.5 Urban Minibus and Bus Operators Cooperative Chairperson Niyazi Yağız underlined the fact that it’s a rare feat for a vehicle operating in urban traffic conditions to see the 1-million-kilometer mark, saying, “Our friends here reached 1 million kilometers without raising the hood of their vehicles they’ve been driving for 16 years. That’s a tough act to follow. I congratulate our award-winners and Anadolu Isuzu.”
