Anadolu Isuzu Published Its Fourth Sustainability Report

Turkey's commercial vehicle brand Anadolu Isuzu shared the determined and strong steps taken in line with the company’s sustainability goals with its sustainability report. The fourth sustainability report, prepared in compliance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guide, contains detailed information on the work and commitments of Anadolu Isuzu in the sustainability field. The company contributes to 13 chapters of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) directly.

Turkey's commercial vehicle brand Anadolu Isuzu has published its Sustainability Report, conveying the steps the company has taken with the aim of creating value for all its stakeholders and society. This year’s report, as the fourth one, was prepared and presented to the public within the framework of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) reporting guide so as to cover all social and economic performance indicators and notifications of Anadolu Isuzu regarding its activities in the field of sustainability, primarily the environmental impact. The report contains detailed information regarding Anadolu Isuzu's efforts to minimize the impact of all processes on the ecosystem, in the field of sustainability through administrative and manufacturing activities as well as the products. The Sustainability Report also mentions the projects the company has implemented with great care and meticulousness to increase the number of female employees in both operational and administrative staff besides the management level, in line with the principles of gender and opportunity equality.

 

 

Anadolu Isuzu General Manager Tuğrul Arıkan made the following statement on the subject:

Our efforts in this direction reflect positively on our success charts in the world markets, especially in Europe. As a company, we have implemented numerous projects with the participation of all our business units. As a company engaged with production in the automotive sector, we will continue to lead our sector in the field of sustainability with our sense of responsibility. Anadolu Isuzu determined six priority topics in sustainability

Anadolu Isuzu determined its priorities in its corporate sustainability journey as well. These topics, which were determined in consideration oƒ the feedbacks from the internal and external stakeholders of the company, are listed as follows:

Anadolu Isuzu will accelerate its efforts further in the coming period with the aim of obtaining solid outputs especially in these topics it takes responsibility.

 

Anadolu Isuzu's efforts in line with its sustainability goals have been deemed worthy of numerous awards at home and abroad. Anadolu Isuzu received the "Sustainable Bus of the Year 2022" award in Europe with its CNG alternative fuel and 100 percent biogas compatible Isuzu Kendo / Interliner bus.

 

Anadolu Isuzu takes part in sustainability platforms with its commitments

Anadolu Isuzu has taken part in many international initiatives with the steps it has taken and the commitments it has made in the field of sustainability, and has recently signed the international Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), that strives against the negative effects of climate change and global warming. Having also participated in the "Drive to Zero" initiative, which works with the goal of "100 percent zero emission" in the sales of new trucks and buses in the commercial vehicle sector until 2040, Anadolu Isuzu has finally signed the UN (United Nations) Global Compact platform, one of the most important initiatives in the field of corporate sustainability.

 

 

Production with green energy

Anadolu Isuzu has achieved an important accomplishment through its efforts to use green energy in its production activities in line with its sustainability goals. In this direction, the company plans to meet 55 percent of the electricity required in production from solar energy as of the last quarter of 2022, with the completion of the photovoltaic solar power plant installed on the roofs of its production facilities in Çayırova.

 

 

More innovation for sustainability

Turkey's commercial vehicle brand Anadolu Isuzu continues working to encourage the use of recyclable biocomposite materials that do not harm the environment in its production activities, in line with its sustainability, R&D and innovation goals. In this direction, the biocomposite material developed by Komporize, that operates in Rize, from tea fibers produced during the tea harvesting and processing processes in the region, offers an environmentally friendly, robust and reliable alternative that can be used instead of plastic in the production of many parts and components.
